Winter offers much in the way of imagery, poetic in black & white; the contrasts of light and dark. Charcoal. Perhaps it also offers something in the way of solace – the shortened days resonating with the darker edges of our thoughts.
Into that darkness, there comes a light. In his own winter, Zechariah says that One will come,
” to give light to those who sit in darkness and in the shadow of death, to guide our feet into the way of peace.” (1)
To all those who are waiting; a pathway of peace. I pray that in these winter words, you will find the solace of company… or light. That Jesus might stir in you a psalm, partnering the despair of darkness with the glory of his light, and give you hope. Amen
